Certification must be renewed every two (2) years.

Certified instructors must complete 12 Continuing Education Credits (CECs) during each two-year renewal period.

One Continuing Education Credit (CEC) is defined as one (1) hour of approved instructional education.

Continuing education hours must be educational in nature and directly related to Pilates, movement education, anatomy, teaching methodology, or other approved areas that support instructor development.

CEC credits must be completed within the designated renewal period. Credits may not be carried over from one renewal cycle to the next.

Approved Continuing Education

CECs may be earned through one or more of the following:

• PIC in-person workshops

• PIC online education modules

• Attendance at the Pilates Journal Expo

• Other approved continuing education programs, workshops, or conferences

The Pilates Institute of Connecticut reserves the right to determine whether outside education qualifies for CEC credit. Documentation of attendance or completion may be required.

Renewal Processing Fee

A $25 certification renewal processing fee is required at the time of renewal.

Instructors who have not completed their CEC requirements by their renewal date will enter a 6-month Grace Period.

During the Grace Period:

• Certification remains valid.

• Instructors may continue teaching.

• All outstanding CEC requirements must be completed before the end of the Grace Period to maintain Active certification.

Failure to complete the required CECs within the Grace Period may result in the instructor's certification becoming inactive until all renewal requirements have been satisfied.

Active instructors receive:

• Official renewal of their Pilates Institute of Connecticut certification

• Listing in the PIC Instructor Directory on the institute website

• Early registration access for new courses and workshops

• Exclusive discounts on future Pilates Institute of Connecticut education and trainings
